After eating, a person may begin to feel uncomfortable, especially when someone started to feel vomiting, nausea, pain in the stomach, outbreaks of wind, bloating, indigestion, diarrhea, sudden irritability, and weight gain. Food intolerance might be the reason for all of these symptoms, as its responses indigestion to certain foods. This means an ingredient from the food you ate irritates your digestive system and will not digest the food properly. One of the most common food intolerances in Germany is the consumption of milk or dairy products.
Almost 10 percent of the population has lactose intolerance. Allergies to wheat and gluten intolerance include the “typical” symptoms of food intolerance. But the causes of it can also be different. It could be Lindseed or the nori seaweed you regularly eat because it is classified as “healthy.”
Difference Between Food Allergies and Food Intolerance
Lots of people are confused between food allergies and food intolerance. Usually, the symptoms of food allergy are, therefore, much more severe and may include symptoms such as anaphylaxis, chest pain, difficulty breathing, irritated skin, rashes, and hives. At other times, the digestive problems could be food poisoning caused by food that has not been consumed properly or whose expiry date has passed. A food allergy can affect the organs, i.e., a food allergy triggers a reaction in the immune system and can be life-threatening.
Treaments
It is advisable to consult a doctor if a person currently suffers from symptoms of intolerance or gluten deficiency. During the intervention or procedure, the doctor or assistant will start a series of tests to determine whether the problem is related to food poisoning, food allergy, or possibly food intolerance. Currently, the identification method consists of eliminating “suspect” foods and keeping a dietary diary. Although this method may work, it may take weeks before “suspect” foods or additives stabilize.
Another approach would be to perform a series of tests. Patients can be tested for allergies or perhaps intolerances, which are initially extensive and then specific: they are first tested for intolerance to the most common foods. If this test is positive, one of almost 300 foods can be determined. The tests are simple to perform and easy to manage.
After the completion of the tests, the next step is eliminating food that causes problems. The results can be immediate and dramatic: the person enjoys a quality of life associated with food intoxications and allergies.
